I think it really should be public knowledge that on a website called pprune there was a gentlemen posting by the name of GOLDEN EAGLE PILOT
This gentlemen posted lots of threads in the name of “cleaning up aviation”
He was indeed however a convicted fraudster. A quick search on the internet will reveal that he has numerous convictions for conning people. He did however manage to wangle his way into a position of power and conned numerous people that were connected with the management of the site. These people allowed him to post many untrue, unfounded and totally false claims about many different organisations.
What people didnt realise is that at the same time he was approaching numerous companies and bribing them saying that if they didnt pay him money then he would ensure their businesses were closed down. He claimed to have connections with CAA LEGAL and was certainly very good at slating the good reputations of numerous clubs such as the ones at Halfpenny Green, Hinton, Blackpool and numerous other companies.
These companies either failed to pay and got a royal roasting from Kevin Crellin, and when they complained to the powers to be at PPRUNE ( people like PPRUNE TOWERS- a person called Robin) they were ignored and told that Golden Eagle Pilot had it right. He wouldnt listen to them even when they asked.
These people then started paying Golden Eagle many thousands of pounds.
What was worse was that one of them having paid over £2000 then refused to pay anymore.
Kevin Crellin then started hassling the CAA saying there was a flying club owner who was flying without a current medical. The CAA acted and asked the flying club owner to produce over 22000 pieces of papers- including ALL the tech logs for all his 20 aircraft going back to new! Less then three days after they asked for this, and despite that fact that they had already recieved a great deal of documents, Kevin Crellin was back on the phone to them demanding action.
At 4am early the next morning the police acting on the instructions of the CAA kicked the door down of this flying club owner. Luckily he had been entertaining and some other pilots were still there to witness this. He was taken to a police station many miles away where he was stripped of all his clothes and put in a dark cell to rot. Many hours later at 11.30pm he was interviewed by the CAA. He protested his innocence saying his medical was in his filofax and if they went and got it it would prove he had a medical.
He asked repeatedly for his solicitor but was refused. They said he was mentally unstable and could only have a social worker and an legal exec that knew nothing about aviaition. He was charged with flying without a medical and kept in the cells.
The next morning he appeared at Northampton Magistrates court. The CAA said that he had flown on numerous occasions and had endangered the lives of thousands of people he overflew.
THEY THEN SAID they opposed bail because HE WAS A FLIGHT RISK, and that one of his little Cessna aircraft could carry him to South America in just a few hours. He was put in Prison for a week.
After 4 days in Prison he finally managed to get a phone call and phoned his own lawyer. The lawyer got to the prison and got the matter back into court. This lawyer flew and understood aircraft. Bail was granted and he got out.
In the meantime KEVIN CRELLIN had been having a field day slandering the flying school owner.
The matter dragged on for over a year. The flying school owner had to find over £30000 UPFRONT to pay the lawyers. The matter finally came to court. The MEDICAL CERTIFICATE that he had protested had been in his FILOFAX could not been found. The CAA had seized his filofax and told the court that his medical was not in there. The lawyer was smart and had arranged for the doctor that did his medical to come to court. He told the jury that he had done his medical and that yes the flying school owner was ok to fly.
The jury retired for a very brief period before finding the flying school owner NOT GUILTY on all counts. The prosecution were ordered to pay all the costs back to the flying school owner. Despite being ordered by the court to this day he has not received a penny.
The final twist in the tail was when several months later he went to the police station to pick up his stuff that had been seized by the CAA he got given his filofax. He opened his filofax in front of the property officer and guess what was there- HIS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE!
